Partner Visa/Spouse Visa

The Partner Visa is designed for the partners or spouses of Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens, allowing them to live in Australia. This visa provides a pathway for partners to join their loved ones and eventually gain permanent residency in Australia.

Visa Options for Partners:
The Australian Partner Visa allows the spouse or de facto partner of an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen to live in Australia. There are two main categories of the Partner Visa:

Temporary Partner Visa
Subclass 820 (for applicants in Australia)

Subclass 309 (for applicants outside Australia)

Permanent Partner Visa
Subclass 801 (for applicants in Australia, following the 820)

Subclass 100 (for applicants outside Australia, following the 309)

Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300)
The Subclass 300 visa is for individuals who wish to come to Australia to marry their prospective spouse. It is a temporary visa that allows you to stay in Australia for up to nine months. Applicants must be outside Australia when they lodge their visa application and when the visa is granted. This visa is ideal for those planning to marry their Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen partner and start their life together in Australia.

These visas provide a pathway to live with your partner in Australia, first temporarily and then permanently.
